Pick up of Personal Belongings

Good afternoon everyone.  We miss you!

We hope everyone is staying safe and healthy - we have been given the guidelines now for the retrieval of student belongings.  These guidelines have been vetted through KFLA public health and will be required for entry into the building.  Below are the guidelines for entering the building.

Guidelines and Instructions

Parents/Guardians and Students must first conduct a general self-assessment - e.g. – have they travelled within the last 14 days or been in contact with a confirmed or probable case of COVID-19?  Click here for a link to the self-assessment.

 ·         If they have passed this general self-assessment, then Active screening is required.

 ·         All parents/guardians and students will be asked upon arrival at a LDSB school/building if they have any symptoms of COVID-19 or any other acute respiratory infection. If the answer is no, then the retrieval process can proceed.  If the answer is yes, then that person cannot be allowed entry into the school or building.

 ·         Active Screening symptoms include:   Fever, New or worsening cough, Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath, Other symptoms of an acute respiratory infection (e.g., fatigue, headache, sore throat, runny nose), Diarrhea or vomiting

 ·         Access to classrooms and lockers will be limited to the student and specific times will be coordinated with the principal. Each person(s) must enter and exit the building at their designated time and door as scheduled.  Areas outside the entrance areas should be properly prepared for individuals who may need to wait using social distancing practices.

·         Parents/guardians and students must wash or sanitize their hands upon entry and exit, if possible. At a minimum, alcohol-based sanitizer must be used. Hand washing/alcohol-based hand rub stations should be available in prominent places.

·         Parents/guardians and students must proceed directly to their class/locker/gym, retrieve any necessary items and leave the building.  During the retrieval process, parents/guardians and students are not permitted to remain in the building for any other purpose than to retrieve personal items.  · Caretaking staff will conduct enhanced cleaning of high touch surface areas following the retrieval process daily.

 ·         While inside the building, all parents/guardians and students must practice appropriate physical distancing, and remain at least 2 metres apart, at all times. Members of the same family do not have to distance.

 ·         Access times for the retrieval of personal items must be approved by the Principal.

Please see schedule below.  We will be going alphabetically - all materials will be in the gym with proper distances and markings for the flow of our visitors.  Entrance will be through the main door by the office and the screening will take place there.  From there all materials will be available in the gym for pick up - including our lost and found items from the year.  Exiting the building will be done through the back gym doors.  We ask that you follow all guidelines and measures put in place to help ensure everyone's safety.
